I think it is a fun holiday and I enjoy being creative! I don't expect expensive gifts, dinners, etc. However, I do think you should acknowledge it by spending time together and saying "Happy Valentine's Day!"

So many people "hate the hallmark holiday!"

I drew a pastels picture of one of our wedding pictures and framed it....cost me all of ! Other than that I plan to rent a movie and make dinner for the hubby and kids (along with give the kids a candy box and card.)

He says I go 'over the top' because we shouldn't need to do anything special ONE day a year because we do special stuff for each other all the time.

What kind of small items can I put in my boyfriend's stocking for Christmas? I already have candy and CDs. He is 33 if that helps.

Any other ideas?

Here is what I got for them so far. I have an almost 2 year old step-daughter and a 15 month old son. I got them both bubbles, flip flops and sun glasses. I also got my step-daughter two tank tops. I'm still looking for something for my son. I'm probably going to get her some undies and a pair of shorts to finish it off and a little candy. For my son I will probably get some sort of toy I can't decide which yet and something for the bath or outside. We are sending my step-daughters stuff home with her this holiday because we are running out of space here. So what do you think? Thanks. What are your kids getting?
I also have bath crayons and chalk I'm giving my son. Of course he will be supervised.

I collected toilet paper tubes, just to gather up some small things and wrap up into somthing that looks like wrapped candy. This might sound silly to you but I actually wrapped one already and it looks pretty decent. Any suggestions? I'm spending a maximum of for each tube so please nothing outrageously priced. Anything small, cute, minature you've seen at the mall or drugstores, please tell me!
Links are also welcome (:

For a couple of years now I've made Christmas gifts for my family. One year I crocheted all of them afghans, the next year I made candy and fudge. I'd like to continue making gifts, but I really haven't got any idea where to start this year. I'd appreciate some input to get me started.

First, I'm putting this in the parenting section instead of Christmas because we all know what it's like to stuff a stocking. We all have done it. We all have had it done to us. I normally stay in this section and trust the answers I get.

Okay, so this year I'm stuffing my son's, husband's, and mother-in-law's stockings. Obviously, there are going to be very different things going on in each! So, I need some good ideas--unique ideas. I have a few things in mind but would like some help. My husband and mother-in-law's stocking are their Christmas gifts so I don't want to put a whole bunch of cheap things in like I normally do.

So, what would you suggest? What are some different and unique ideas for stocking stuffers?

Thanks!!
By the way, my son is almost two. The gifts I already have in mind for my husband are; a mini-scrapbook with pictures of him and our son, a leatherman, candy, and maybe a certificate to game stop or something like that. My mother-in-laws will have; a mini-scrapbook of her kids and grandkids, candy, a wallflower from Bath & Body Works, a necklace, and some lotion--maybe a gift card too. That's all I got and would love some better ideas!!
We don't have any really 'cool' gadgets. My husband has an xBox 360 and that's about as gadgety as it gets around here! Haha. Thanks for the suggestions so far.
His mom lives in New Mexico so I'm done to crunch time for her stocking. I like the theme. She's married but her husband lives in a different state. I'm thinking the theme should be for her to pamper herself.
